in the racial slave owners’ classification, the “octavon” was a child born from a “quarteron” himself born from a mulatto, therefore a 1/8th black blood.
Proposal of a musical “residence” around black influences in the world coming from diasporas and interbreedings and sound research around the question of circulation today.
Here in the path of numerous artists originating or not from Africa, claimed or not, what are the traces of those influences for them and what meaning do they give to them (the black influences).
In the style of Laboratoire momentané (residence for 12 international dancers) proposal to local, regional or international artists from different generations to gather in order to come up with ideas to share with the public.

They took part in the audiovisual creation of Zutano BaZar “La fabrique (i)matérielle” that took place in August 2008 in Le Mans. This first collaboration with the company permitted to highlight the wish to carry on a joint research around the relation between performing arts, visual arts, and resonant arts.
In the frame of the partnership with the Université du Maine, Lignes Africaines (African Lines) suggested them to use the engineering science workshop, realisation space exceptionally open to the public for a unique experience.
